Walmart introduced its app-based price-matching program called “Walmart Savings Catcher” in 2014. The app allowed the users to compare the company’s prices of goods with the other competitors to check if Walmart really was offering lower prices than the rest of the places. If the savings catcher found a lower price advertised by a competitor of the company then they will issue their customer a Walmart gift card for the amount of difference between the prices.
