WWII Heritage Tours is run by Libby Babbage together with her husband John and son Paul. Their fascination with the Second World War in Eastern Europe originated with Libby’s family history. Raised in the former Czechoslovakia, Libby’s early understanding of World War II was shaped by the communist state. Since moving to Britain 40 years ago she has explored western perspectives and now has a rich understanding of the complex tapestry of conflict in Eastern Europe. Her father was Josef Cetl, a member of the Czech communist underground and a survivor of both the Terezin and Buchenwald concentration camps. It is this personal history that has been a driving force in the creation of WWII Heritage Tours and Libby personally leads many of the tour groups.
