Changa is a smokeable blend containing the psychoactive material dimethyltryptamine (DMT). The mixture most often consists of a blend of psychotria viridis, which has DMT, as well as banisteriopsis caapi, which has a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAO-I). Changa was developed as a remedy to this; the enhancement of an MAO-I protects against the failure of DMT.
