A flood is identified as an overflowing of water that submerges the adjacent lands. It is usually a non permanent overlaying of land by water that is not normally there. When this develops, floods may cause deterioration to small businesses to homes that are standing directly in its path. To avert this, the best way is to move out of the threatened areas, though such warnings are not usually heeded by people because the importance of living near accessible water outweighs the cost of flooding.
