A new study, published in the journal, Neurology, and reported on by Medical News Today, reveals that stroke victims are getting much younger. Stroke, usually caused by a clot that interrupts blood flow to the brain, has an increased incidence in those aged 15 to 44 since 2009. Risk factors for this, oftentimes, debilitating and, sometimes, fatal, attack include smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol levels and obesity. The good news is that all of these risk factors can be addressed and reversed with patience, determination and medical guidance.
