Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that Kentucky led the country in job growth in terms of percentage (+1.5 percent), and close behind was New Hampshire (+1.43 percent).

Michigan, the state with the second-highest unemployment rate in the country at 13.2 percent saw uneven job increases across the state in June.

The unemployment rate has gone down in 39 states and Washington DC in June according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Five states reported increases and another six reported that the situation remained the same.

California’s Bay Area, the hub of Silicon Valley, has lost over 10,000 jobs in June. This was the biggest job losses for the nine-county region since September 2009. The data is from California’s Employment Development Department.
