Government's support to encourage domestic generics industry, patent expiries, increasing healthcare expenditure of public and private insurance sector, rising disposable income, rising ageing population etc., have been the major growth drivers. Brazil is the only Country in emerging world to have a subsequent increase in the healthcare expenditure which is one of the key growth factors in the healthcare sector. Also, it is one of the few countries that provides free medicines to people under lower income groups and patients with chronic diseases.
