In the US medical professionals are responsible for ensuring the public safety when it comes to the usage of healthcare products and drugs, this has been the case for over 170 years. Despite this more than 50% of medicines which are prescribed, dispensed or sold are done so incorrectly and 50% of patients fail to take their medication appropriately, according to a report in 2018 by the World Health Organization. This huge figure emphasises the necessity of pharmacovigilance professionals who are highly skilled in their jobs and have the ability to make positive changes to the industry. Doctors are largely expected to take part in the pharmacovigilance system to report misuses or adverse-events caused by drugs, however, due to many reasons, particularly an oversubscribed medical system in the US means that only 5% of doctors are estimated to participate. EPM Scientific are working alongside many pharmaceutical corporations in the US in cities from the west to east coast including: New York, Chicago, Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
