Ben Erlandson is driving across the country in the dead of winter, exploring the southern portion of the United States of America.  He is stopping in national and state parks in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina as he makes his journey to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains from the San Francisco Bay. Ben will be passing through the Sierra Nevada, the Rockies, the Ozarks, and the Blue Ridge Mountains along the way. He will be taking pictures and writing a “sense of place” journal as he goes, making notes of his observations within and beyond the camera.  When it’s all over, he’ll have a published book and a collection of photos ready to be shown in galleries.

Dmitry Sokolov and Nathan Malky are two friends from Israel. They wanted to make an interesting game which will not be similar to any of existent ones. The artist and software engineer duo are mostly busy with different freelance projects. Now, they feel it is the right time to start a project that comes fully from their hearts, not from different customers’ requirements.

For over 20 years, Mike Kunkel has been working as a cartoonist telling stories and creating characters for all-ages audiences. Mike has animated characters for animation features, designed cartoon kids and creatures, and written/drawn stories in films and books. He has also worked on Feature Films for Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, and Paramount Studios, and TV Shows for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney. The Squiggle Project began for Mike as an opportunity to create artwork with his kids. They would draw a line and start the creativity flowing, then Mike would create an image based on that little squiggle. The drawings became more and more involved and Mike loved the visual journey so much, that soon, he found himself drawing from his own squiggles. “Each one was turning into a one-of-a-kind exploration into imagination,” says Mike. “It has been so much fun, that now I want to share this way of being creative, and I hope this new book inspires people to draw and create from their own imagination.” The book is being prepared for press. The plan is to send it off for printing, get it printed, delivered back and then mail it out to all supporters by July/August of 2014.
