Rebecca Guberman-Bloom was infected with HIV she was 17 and has been living with the virus for 26 years. She, along with Jennifer Jako who was also infected while very young, made Bloodlines; a documentary on HIV and AIDS from the perspective of younger people. It debuted on December 1, 1998, World AIDS Day, on MTV under the title It Could Be You, and won many awards. This film is a favorite by many for its use as an educational tool in high schools and middle schools. After 15 years of faithful service to America’s youth, the material has become a bit dated.
